Kuro Browser is built with privacy as a core principle. Kuro is free, open source, and designed to give users control over their browsing experience.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Kuro collects, what we do not collect, and how optional services such as cloud AI work.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

1.1. What Kuro Does Not Collect

Kuro does not collect or store:

  • Browsing history
  • Search history
  • Visited URLs
  • Bookmarks
  • Saved passwords
  • Browsing activity
  • Telemetry
  • Advertising profiles
  • Tracking information

1.2. No Selling or Tracking

Kuro does not sell user data.

Kuro does not use advertising or behavioral tracking.

2. Browser Data

2.1. Your Data Stays With You

Your browser data remains under your control.

Kuro does not collect or transmit your browsing history, bookmarks, saved passwords, or visited websites to Kuro.

2.2. Synchronization

Kuro currently does not provide a cloud synchronization service. If synchronization is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before the feature is introduced.

3. Crash Reports

3.1. No Automatic Collection

Kuro does not automatically collect crash reports for its own purposes.

3.2. Reports You Choose to Send

If you choose to provide a crash report to the Kuro team, the information you voluntarily provide may be used to investigate and fix the reported problem.

4. Kuro Intelligence

4.1. Overview

Kuro may include built-in AI features through Kuro Intelligence.

Kuro is designed to support local AI, allowing supported AI processing to happen on your device.

Kuro may also support:

  • Local AI models
  • Ollama
  • Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
  • Cloud AI providers
  • Other AI services when required by a feature

4.2. Local AI

When you use a local AI model, processing can take place on your device without sending your information to an external AI provider.

4.3. Cloud AI

If you choose to use a cloud AI provider, information required to process your request may be sent to that provider.

This is necessary for the cloud AI service to provide its functionality.

The privacy practices of the selected AI provider may apply to information sent to that provider. Users should review the provider’s privacy policy before using its services.

Kuro does not store your AI conversations.

5. Cookies and Tracking

5.1. Cookies

The Kuro website does not intentionally use cookies for tracking or advertising.

5.2. Analytics

Kuro does not use website analytics to build advertising or behavioral profiles.

6. Third-Party Services

6.1. Browsing Data

Kuro does not currently rely on third-party services to collect or store user browsing data.

6.2. Optional Features

Some optional features, such as cloud AI, may require communication with external service providers when the user chooses to use those services.

Those providers operate under their own privacy policies.

Kuro does not maintain a central database containing users’ browsing information.

7.2. What Kuro Does Not Store

Kuro does not maintain a database of:

  • Browsing histories
  • Search histories
  • Visited websites
  • Bookmarks
  • Saved passwords
  • AI conversations

8. Data Retention

8.1. Browsing Information

Because Kuro does not collect or maintain the categories of personal browsing information described above, Kuro does not maintain a retention period for that information.

8.2. Information You Send Us

Information voluntarily submitted to Kuro, such as a crash report or privacy inquiry, may be retained as necessary to respond to the request or resolve the issue.

9. Your Control

9.1. Control of Your Data

Kuro is designed around the principle that users should control their own browser data.

9.2. Clear Communication

Features that communicate with external services should make that communication clear to the user.

9.3. No Advertising or Tracking

Kuro will not intentionally send browsing information to external services for advertising or tracking.

10. Open Source

Kuro is open source.

Our source code can be inspected by the community, allowing users and contributors to examine how Kuro works and how privacy-related functionality is implemented.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

11.1. Updates

Kuro may update this Privacy Policy when the browser, website, or services change.

If a future feature changes how user information is handled, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect that change.

11.2. Last Updated Date

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will indicate when the policy was most recently updated.
